This is my Dad's ephemeral artwork.  He couldn't part with his old Bass that was broken, so he strung it up in a tree in front of our house.       He's very proud of it.
This is near my house,  a place where I run and ride horses.   My break has been pretty eventful, although last week I was beginning to feel angst about being home for so long.  I went to Chapel Hill this week-end and had a great time -- that trip completely changed my perspective on my time at home.  I saw my sister's old band play (The Steep Canyon Ranger's) they are really good.

I'm house-sitting right now, which is nice and peaceful.  I've been at my parents quite a bit too.  They had guests for dinner and they are all down stairs playing music together (piano, bass, banjo, and guitar).  I was playing my violin but I'm checking out for the moment.

I feel like as long as I stay active and busy I am very happy.  I've been climbing a couple times and out dancing three times.  If I am running, climbing, or dancing, I feel I am using this precious time off well.

Janelle and I talked on the phone this week-end, and we're trying to cook-up some adventerous plans for January.  Let us know if you have any great ideas!

I miss you guys and hope and pray you are enjoying you're break! Love always, elspeth :)
